  • FluonR ETFE can be used from -200 - +180C.

  • FluonRETFE has good weatherability over 10 years. UV transmittance is very small, and deterioration will not occur. Film (AFLEX) is also active.
  • FluonR ETFE guards steel pipes and various metal materials from corrosion with excellent chemical resistance and adhesivility. Poisonless,odorless and passes food hygiene law test of the Japanese Minister of Health and Welfare.

FluonRETFE Chacteristics and Properties

 

FluonRETFE is a thermoplastic fluorinated resin developed by Asahi Glass, and it's basic conformation is ethylene(C2H4) - tetrafluoroethylene(C2F4) ETFEpolymer.
Fluon
®ETFE combines improved mechanical properties, great moldability, and excellent electrical properties and chemical resistance.

-- Good Moldability
With the chacteristics of fluoropolymers, extrusion molding, injection molding, and powder coating are available, like general thermoplastic resins. Filming, heatsealing, composition with rubber, and various secondary processes are possible.

 


-- Excellent Chemical Resistance
Almost all chemicals, from hard acids and hard bases down, will not deteriorate Fluon
RETFE.

-- Exceptionally Good Electrical Properties FluonR ETFE is an excellent insulator and has large break-down voltage with thin film. Low dielectric constant, dielectric tangent would be shown over a wide range of frequencies.

-- Good Performancee to use Over a Wide Range of Temperatures
Stable mechanical, electrical properties are maintained over a wide range of temperatures, -200 - +180 C. Continuous service at 180C is possible.
 

-- Good Weatherability Beyond 10 Years
Screens ultraviolete-rays (UV) and is not deteriorated by UV.


-- Excellent anti-adhesivility
Abilities of anti-adhesion and releasing is so unrivaled that flow resistance of fluid in pipes is very slight.

-- Nonflammable, Poisonless Flammability: UL-94V-0. Tasteless, odorless, poisonless, and available to almost all purposes.  

-- Excellent Low Suface Energy
Reliable surface properties, e.g. low friction constant, anti-adhesion, and water/oil repellency gives exellent effect for obtaining the slightest of flow resistance.
