The New Performance Material
M.S.GEL
Our Micro Sphere Gel (M.S.GEL) are silica-based high-purity
sphericalgels. They have been jointly developed by Dohkai
Chemical Industries, whichhas the longest silica gel
manufacturing history in Asia, and R&D staffof Asahi Glass,
making full use of their technological expertise and
accumulatedknow-how. Over the past 40 years, Asahi and Dohkai
have worked togetherto perfect chemical engineering technology in
the development and productionof silica derivatives.
Silica packings are a key component in HPLC technology. Compared
withother packings, they have far higher rigidity and maintain
outstandingperformance levels even in a scaled-up system. Our
superb silica gels,MS GEL, assure its wide and continued
acceptance in the growing HPLC areasat both analytical and
preparative/production level. MS Gel's outstandingcharacteristics
enable it to meet various demands, not only HPLC packingsbut also
absorbents, catalyst carriers, controlled releasing agents, andso
on.

Characteristics
The surface of MS Gel is covered with silanol groups (Si-OH)
while thesilanol groups interact with active groups of solutes.
MS Gels are builtup with secondary particles which are formed by
primary having a diameterof tens of hundreds of angstroms. Strict
adjustment of size and bindingmode of primary particles, based on
our long experience and expertise withsilica, enable us to supply
our customers with various types of MS Gelcovering a wide range
of particle/pore size, activity, adsorbing strength, and on so.

Features
| - |
The purity of SiO2
spans a wide range from standard(99.9%) to super high
purity (99.995%). |
- |
The mean pore size is
available from 4-50 nanometer.Since pore size
distribution is critically controlled, the gels are
suitablefor a wide range of applications. |
| - |
It is easy to pack densely
the spherical silicagel in a column. |
- |
MS Gel has a large surface
area
(150-800m2/g), and small pore size (0.4-2.0ml/100g).
|
| - |
From the wide range of
particle sizes (3-600 micron meter),the desired size can
be accurately selected. This allows broad applicationof
the gel, from high level microanalysis to industrial use.
All particlesizes hold spherically, and there is no inter-lot
variance. |
- |
Spherical, all-porous fine
particles free fromcavities and cracks. They can be
packed into the most compact form andoffer low back
pressure and good separation performance. Packed
featureoutstanding efficiency. |
