In a hot summer day, you will want to quickly rush into a comfortably air-conditioned building to escape from burning sunlight. In a cold winter day, you may also want to stay in your warm office room. Glass, for which you may usually not think anything special in your home or office, is critical to create comfortable space. And you may believe that no notable differences exist between various glasses. "Sunbalance", the low-emissive, double-glazing glass that we have developed really concerns creating comfortable room environment for many people.

Key technologies to keep your room comfortable

The most important subject in creating comfortable room environment with suitable temperatures is how to provide effective thermal insulation through glass. Low thermal insulation allows outside atmosphere, hot in summer and cold in winter, to penetrate into the room. In order to provide this high thermal insulation effect, the double-glazing glass "Sunbalance", which is much different from any single sheet of glass, is widely used in homes and offices. Sunbalance has an air space between the two sheets of glass. This air-space prevents radiating heat from moving and causes high thermal insulation. Additionally, Sunbalance has "special metal " coated on the inside surface of the glass that faces the outside. This "special metal " allows only visible light among from sunlight to pass through it, virtually blocks ultraviolet that adversely affects human skin and infrared that delivers heat, and contributes to high thermal insulation. With this high thermal insulation effect, Sunbalance improves the efficiency of air-conditioning both in summer and winter and successfully provides comfortable room environment.

The air-space eliminates condensation

The advantages of Sunbalance are not limited to the thermal insulation effect. Sunbalance can effectively eliminate " dew condensation", the unwanted phenomenon that is highly related to window glass. Condensation is caused by a difference in the temperature between the inside and outside of the room. It is a phenomenon where vapor in the air contacts a low temperature part, is saturated there, and changes to water. Condensation on window glass may cause various issues, such as mildewing and corrosion. In Sunbalance, its air-space provides excellent thermal insulation to prevent the temperature of the glass facing the room from extremely lowering. This effect reduces the difference between the glass temperature and room temperature and prevents condensation from occurring. In general, under a room environment with the temperature of 25 degrees and relative humidity of 60%, outside temperature of 12 degrees will cause condensation on the surface of a single sheet of glass. Sunbalance, however, will not allow condensation from occurring until the outside temperature lowers to -5 degrees. You can easily recognize the difference by comparing it with other kinds of glass. The rich functionalities of Sunbalance, such as high thermal insulation and condensation prevention, can save energy for air-conditioning and makes Sunbalance noteworthy from the standpoint of environment preservation. Almost nobody pay attention to window glass because it exists like the air. However, it supports comfortable lives of people in the background.
