AGC was awarded "Bronze Class" in the SAM's sustainability rating

AGC (Asahi Glass CO., Ltd.) was awarded "Bronze Class" in the sustainability rating of Sustainable Asset Management (SAM,) a research and rating company of SRI in Switzerland.

SAM evaluates the world's 2,500 largest companies in 58 sectors in "Economic," "Environmental" and "Social" criteria and select excellent companies in the perspectives of sustainability every year*1. Companies where evaluation is especially high in each sector are also awarded as "Gold Class," "Silver Class" and "Bronze class."

In 2012, 433 companies (including 34 Japanese companies) were selected and awarded 87 companies in "Gold Class," 41 companies in "Silver Class" and 92 companies in "Bronze Class." In "Building Materials & Fixtures" sector to which the AGC belongs, 9 companies were selected and, among which, 1 company as "Gold Class," 3 companies as "Silver Class" and 3 companies as "Bronze Class" were awarded.
