On-site retrofit Low-E glassSticking glass onto windows?

Energy-saving and comfortable indoor spaces realized by AGC

By attaching Low-E glass to windows, AGC has made it possible to create comfortable indoor spaces while also making it possible to save energy in office buildings and stores, which was previously difficult.

In this article, we will introduce the special construction method “on-site retrofit Low-E glass”.

Question1What is “on-site retrofit Low-E glass”?

Low-E glass has the feature of reflecting far infrared rays such as direct sunlight and heating while allowing light to pass through, and it can greatly improve the heat retention of indoor spaces.

On-site retrofit Low-E glass can be installed by simply affixing Low-E glass over existing windows, and it offers the same performance as Low-E double glazing. AGC has developed “Attoch” as a glass that can be retrofitted.

Attoch makes it possible to install double glazing in the windows of office buildings and stores in a short construction period.

Question2What are the benefits of installing Attoch?

① Not only a solution for the summer heat, but also for the winter cold!

  • Reflects far infrared rays both indoors and outdoors, providing high energy-saving effects throughout the year.
  • Prevents condensation※

② Construction cost reduction!

  • By installing from the inside of the room, there is no need to set up scaffolding from the outside
  • Short construction time (30 minutes to 1 hour per sheet)
  • Since the existing glass is used continuously, there is no need to dispose of the existing glass

③ Maintenance cost reduction!

  • Unlike heat-shielding film, there is no need to replace it regularly, so there are no additional costs

※This does not guarantee that condensation will not occur.

Question3Where is Attoch used?

Attoch is used in many buildings.
