Low-reflection glass prevents glare and clearly shows the true beauty of the object. We will introduce CLEAR SIGHT™ II, low-reflection glass with even greater durability thanks to AGC's unique coating technology.
Question1What is “low-reflection glass”?
When you look at the glass on a TV or in a cupboard, you can see your own reflection and the scenery around you, right? With ordinary glass, light from the surrounding light source is reflected on the glass surface, and it is often difficult to see what you want to see.
AGC has “low-reflection glass” that can reduce light reflection by coating the glass surface with a special film, allowing you to see clearly what is beyond the glass.
This low-reflective glass is used in picture frames for paintings and photographs on display in art galleries, protecting the works while allowing visitors to see the original works faithfully and beautifully.

Question2Can “low-reflective glass” only be used for picture frames?
Until now, low-reflective glass has been “indoor-only”, and has been limited to use in picture frames and showcases. This is because the coating on low-reflective glass is not durable enough for outdoor use.
AGC has therefore developed its own coating that is strong enough for outdoor use. While maintaining the high visibility of “low-reflective glass”, “ CLEAR SIGHT™ II” has been born, which can be used outdoors, such as in shop display windows.

Question3How does CLEAR SITE™ II reduce the amount of reflection on glass?
By applying a special multi-layer coating on both sides of the glass, the reflection has been reduced to about one-eighth that of ordinary glass.
This level of reflection is so low that you wouldn’t notice it unless you look closely.
Question4Where can you use CLEAR SIGHT™ II?
It is used in places where you want to “show off” the other side of the glass beautifully and faithfully, such as in jewelry stores, cafes, car showrooms, and hotel front lobbies, as well as in museums and art galleries.
