Question1What is the UV-cut function of car windows?
The UV-cut rate of car windshield is approximately 99%. The windshield uses “laminated glass,” which sandwiches a special film between two layers of glass, and this film achieves a high UV cut rate.

On the other hand, the front door glass, rear door glass, and rear glass generally use “tempered glass” without any interlayer film. The UV cut rate of “tempered glass” is around 90%.

Question2What is the world‘s first all-around 99% UV-cut glass ?

The UV protection factor of “All-around 99% UV-cut glass” is equivalent to “SPF50+/PA++++”.
“SPF50+/PA++++” is the highest level of protection against UV rays used in cosmetics, sunscreens and other products.

* This is the result of measuring the UV protection factor of glass with glass pressed against the skin, in accordance with the measurement method specified by the Japan Cosmetic Industry Association. This method is not normally used to evaluate window glass.

It also has an IR (infrared) cut function that reduces the heat from the sun through the window. When the temperature of a person sitting in the back seat was measured using a thermographic camera, it was found that UV Verre Premium Privashield™ was more effective than the previous My Verre™ (privacy glass) in reducing the temperature increase of the cheeks (-1.7°C) and head (-2.4°C).

* Test environment: equivalent to mid-summer in Okinawa (AGC measurement)
