AGC has extensive experience in the development, prototyping, and mass production of transmission type diffraction gratings based on its proprietary optical design, microfabrication, coating, and mass production technologies. These enable it to propose the optimal solutions for customers.

Transmission type diffraction grating

A transmission type diffraction grating is an element used for diffracting light and other waves. It is made of transparent material with a microscopic periodic structure. When light enters the material, it is diffracted at an angle corresponding to the wavelength. This diffraction provides information about the wavelength of light, which is used for applications such as spectroscopy and optical interference.

Applications

  • Optical communications
    - WSS (wavelength selective switch)
    - Tunable Filter
  • LiDAR
  • Attenuator
  • Optical spectrum analyzers

etc.
