Chairman Ishimura Awarded ‘Commander of the Order of the Crown’ by Kingdom of Belgium
Fourth Person of AGC to be Awarded
AGC (Headquarters: Tokyo; President: Takuya Shimamura) Chairman of the Board, Kazuhiko Ishimura, has been awarded the ‘Commander of the Order of the Crown’ by Kingdom of Belgium. The award was presented by Gunther Sleeuwagen, Ambassador of Belgium to Japan, on July 11, 2018 at the Embassy of Belgium in Japan.
This marks the fourth person from AGC to be recognized with the same award, beginning with Hiromichi Seya (then Chairman) and Shinya Ishizu (then President) in 2001, and followed by Masahiro Kadomatsu (then Chairman) in 2010.
The Commander of the Order of the Crown is awarded to those who have rendered meritorious services to the Belgian state. This latest award was given in recognition of AGC's contribution to Belgium's economy and industry through active investment in the country. Namely by establishing the head office of AGC Glass Europe, one of AGC Group’s core companies, in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.
