AGC and Tokyo University of Science Launch Social Cooperation Program: "Laboratory for Inorganic and Amorphous Materials"
Demand for highly-functional glass materials is growing in tandem with recent advances in semiconductors and the advent of the 5G era. In particular, it is important to understand the factors that determine the material properties to develop diverse and new functions. Tokyo University of Science and AGC have been conducting various joint research projects in the field of highly-functional glass, establishing methods to control the microstructure of glass materials, and jointly developing various glass such as the glass that is resistant to breakage.
Through this program, Tokyo University of Science and AGC aim to contribute to the advancement of science and industry, as well as to stimulate the development of the human resources who will support science and industry in Japan in the future, by promoting and enhancing education and research.

Notes
*1 In April 2021, the department name will be changed from the Department of Materials Science and Technology, Graduate School of Industrial Science and Technology to the Department of Materials Synthesis Engineering, Graduate School of Advanced Engineering.
