AGC (Headquarters: Tokyo; President: Yoshinori Hirai), a world-leading manufacturer of glass, chemicals, and high-tech materials, has announced that it will exhibit SunEwat (sold in Japan as Sunjoule®), a Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV), in the Japan Pavilion, organized by the Ministry of Environment at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28). The event will be held at the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, between November 30 and December 12,2023. This is the first time for AGC to exhibit its products at COP.

Based on the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which aims to curb global warming, COP is an international conference held annually with the participation of leaders of international organizations, national and local governments, NGOs, and corporations from various countries. This year marks its 28th session.
At the Japan Pavilion in the venue, technologies and initiatives that support global decarbonization and Japan’s realization of carbon neutrality by 2050 will be transmitted through exhibitions and seminars *.
SunEwat can efficiently generate electricity using the exterior walls of a building, and by freely arranging the solar panels, it can add a high level of design to a building.

AGC aims to achieve sustainability management by providing a variety of products that maintain the global environment and support society, thereby achieving both economic and social value without contradictions. Furthermore, one of the long-term social issues that AGC recognizes is the need to address the issue of climate change. By utilizing environmentally friendly products and technologies, AGC will contribute to the carbon neutrality of society as a whole.

About SunEwat

SunEwat is the one-stop shop for photovoltaics-embedded glass solutions that offers three main values.

Efficient power generation: Utilizing building exteriors

Paseo de Gracia / BARCELONA - SPAIN

While serving as architectural glass, SunEwat can generate renewable energy. Parts of buildings made of glass such as facades, windows, eaves, and balconies, which have not previously been utilized for power generation, will have the ability to generate electricity using sunlight. Since the glass is integrated with the buildings, there is no need to secure new land for power generation.

No compromise on design: Fully customizable

    Dulwich College / Singapore

Solar power can be generated without compromising the aesthetics of the building.

Architects and designers can arrange and deploy glass sizes and photovoltaic cells as they wish to create their own original designs.

Visible Environmental InitiativesEnergy creation through exteriors

By placing SunEwat on a building's exterior, that are visible to many people, stakeholders, including owners and tenants, can clearly show they are taking actual steps to achieve carbon neutrality and realize a sustainable future.
