Director Chairman Takuya Shimamura Awarded ‘Commander in the Order of the Crown’ by Kingdom of Belgium
Fifth Person of AGC to be Awarded
Takuya Shimamura, Director Chairman of the AGC Group, who served as President and CEO from 2015 to 2020, has been awarded the ‘Commander in the Order of the Crown’ by Kingdom of Belgium. The award was presented by Antoine Evrard, Ambassador of Belgium to Japan, on October 2, 2024 at the Embassy of Belgium in Japan.
This marks the fifth person from AGC to be recognized with the same award, following Kazuhiko Ishimura (then chairman), who received the award in 2018, and Masahiro Kadomatsu (then chairman), who received the award in 2010 and others.
The Commander in the Order of the Crown is awarded to those who have rendered meritorious services to the Belgian state. This latest award was given in recognition of his contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Belgium and Japan.
