AGC Glass Europe Announces Inauguration of New Flat Glass Production Line with Reduced Carbon Footprint
AGC (AGC Inc., Headquarters: Tokyo; President: Yoshinori Hirai), a world-leading manufacturer of glass, chemicals, and other high-tech materials, announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary, AGC Glass Europe S.A. (Headquarters: Belgium), has inaugurated the refurbished flat glass production line at the AGC Barevka plant in Teplice, featuring a significantly reduced carbon footprint, starting in February. This breakthrough project, called the “Volta R&D Project,” carried out in collaboration between AGC and Saint-Gobain, features a pilot furnace using a world's first innovative flat glass production technology. The project was financially supported by the EU Innovation Fund.
AGC and Saint-Gobain officially inaugurated the Volta production line in the presence of local authorities,
