AGC Biologics Expands U.S. Manufacturing Capabilities Through Strategic Partnership with Pyramid Pharma Services
－Enhancing integrated supply from drug substance to drug product, including fill-finish services－
AGC Biologics, Inc., a global biopharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO *1) and a subsidiary of AGC Inc. (Tokyo; President: Yoshinori Hirai), has entered into a strategic partnership with Pyramid Pharma Services, a U.S.-based CDMO.
Through this partnership, AGC Biologics aims to expand its U.S.-based development and manufacturing platform from drug substance to drug product. The collaboration is intended to support an integrated supply capability for clinical programs. It is expected to enhance development efficiency and supply stability while helping enable timely delivery of medicines to patients.

In biopharmaceutical development, there is increasing demand for integrated supply chains that cover both drug substance and drug product manufacturing, driven by quality requirements, development efficiency, and regulatory considerations.
Under the partnership, AGC Biologics will be responsible for drug substance process development and manufacturing, while Pyramid Pharma Services will provide sterile fill-finish and drug product capabilities. Together, the companies will offer sterile fill-finish services for vials (liquid and lyophilized), pre-filled syringes, and cartridges. The integrated offering also includes device assembly, labeling, and secondary packaging services within the United States.
In addition, integrated project management is expected to help reduce process transfer complexity and shorten development timelines. This is intended to improve overall development efficiency. Combined with AGC Biologics’ existing drug product-related capabilities in Europe, the partnership aims to enhance global supply chain flexibility and strengthen supply stability.

AGC Biologics operates an integrated global GMP system across Japan, the United States, and Europe. Through this platform, the company continues to expand its CDMO services across a wide range of modalities.
