Asahi Glass Ceramics and RHI AG conclude a Marketing and Sales Agreement

  • Both companies are important suppliers of refractories to the glass industry

  • With this co-operation each party is able to extend its product offering to the full range of fused cast refractories.

Asahi Glass Ceramics Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Asahi Glass Co., Ltd., and the Glass Division of the RHI Group announce their co-operation for fused cast refractories in Asia and Europe respectively.

RHI and Asahi Glass Ceramics have come to a Marketing and Sales Agreement on October 20, 2003 in which Asahi Glass Ceramics distributes RHI's patented molybdenum reinforced fused cast refractories in Asia, and RHI distributes Asahi Glass Ceramic's alumina and high zirconia fused cast refractories to the Container and Special Glass Industry in Europe.

Asahi Glass Ceramics produces fused cast refractories based on alumina (alpha/beta alumina), alumina-silica-zirconia (AZS) and high zirconia (HZFC) in its production facilities in Japan and China.

RHI through its Glass Division and its wholly owned subsidiaries Refel SpA, Italy, and VRD-Glas GmbH, Germany, manufactures and markets fused cast refractories based on alumina-silica-zirconia as well as molybdenum reinforced AZS refractories.

With this co-operation both companies are able to offer the full range of fused cast refractories to their respective customers in the glass industry.
