Sagami Plant
The Sagami Plant started operation in 1972 as a general manufacturing factory for automotive safety glass intended for vehicle manufacturers in the Kanto District. Japan/Asia Pacific Technology Division was set up in the plant's compound and has joined forces with the production section.

The production process of automotive glass: Where glass is formed into the prescribed shape by applying heat; the black parts are where ceramic is sintered on.

This cylindrical equipment with a large semispherical door is an autoclave, which layers film between two fabricated plates of glass, moves it into the cylindrical autoclave and applies high pressure for adhesion. The autoclave is 4 m in diameter.
